The genus Conotelus Erichson (Coleoptera: Nitidulidae) is composed of long, narrow, cone-shaped beetles resembling rove beetles in the genus Stenus (Staphylinidae). They are commonly associated with the flowers of Convolvulaceae, especially those of Ipomoea spp., and Convolvulus spp., and many other flowers. One species, C. stenoides, is damaging to corn (maize). The objective of this annotated bibliography is to retrieve all possible publications on the genus from 1801, when Fabricius described the first two species, until the present time. Annotations reflect Conotelus content of citations. Indexes of habitats and hosts, species, and distribution aid the user in locating pertinent information in the references.
