Metapygmephorellus Rahiminejad, Hajiqanbar & Khaustov gen. nov. (Acari: Prostigmata: Pygmephoridae) (type species Metapygmephorellus colydius Rahiminejad & Hajiqanbar sp. nov.) is described and illustrated based on females phoretic on Colydium elongatum (F., 1787) and Dorcus parallelipipedus (L., 1758) (Coleoptera: Zopheridae and Lucanidae), respectively, which were collected from the forests in northern Iran.
