The genus Pseudozygoneura Steffan (1969) is recorded and revised from China for the first time, and includes eleven species. Six new species, P. hexacantha sp. nov., P. brachyacantha sp. nov., P. bifida sp. nov., P. triacantha sp. nov., P. robustispina sp. nov. and P. quadridentata sp. nov. are described herein and illustrated in detail. Another five species, P. latidactylaHippa, Vilkamaa & Heinakroon, 1998, P. indexHippa, Vilkamaa & Heinakroon, 1998, P. kirkspriggsiHippa, Vilkamaa & Heinakroon, 1998, P. flagelloparvaHippa, Vilkamaa & Heinakroon, 1998 and P. lagenaHippa, Vilkamaa & Heinakroon, 1998 are reported. Geographical distribution of the eleven Chinese species is provided, as well as a key to all Chinese species.
The first species of the genus Argyra from Tibet is described here as new to science, Argyra tibetensis sp. nov., and the species of the genus from China are keyed.
A new species, Tegenaria vanensis sp.n. is described based on males from Van Province in Turkey. The current number of Tegenaria species in Turkey is increased to 31.
Chironomus major Wülker and Butler is a junior homonym of Parachironomus major (Goetghebuer) and is replaced with Chironomus magnus. A first description of the adult is provided along with observations on its ecology in Kentucky Lake (USA) including emergence, burrowing patterns, and geographical distribution.
Seven new state and sixty-four new county records of mayflies (Insecta: Ephemeroptera) are given for Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Nebraska based upon review of existing collections as well as newly collected material. New state records are provided for Baetis brunneicolor (Baetidae), Iswaeon anoka (Baetidae), Procloeon fragile (Baetidae), Pseudocentroptiloides usa (Baetidae), Cercobrachys lilliei (Caenidae), and Heptagenia whitingi (Heptageniidae).
Two harvestmen species, Mediostoma haasi (Roewer, 1953) and Phalangium armatumSnegovaya, 2005, are recorded in Turkey for the first time. Their description, characteristic features, distributions, measurements and photographs of genitalia and general habitus of both sexes are presented.
Three species of Bolivaritettix (Orthoptera: Tetrigidae: Metrodorinae) are reported for Thailand. Bolivaritettix lativertexoides sp. nov., B. maculatus sp. nov. and B. chiangraiensis sp. nov. are described and illustrated with photographs and compared with similar species. A taxonomic review of the genus Bolivaritettix is provided and a key to species of Bolivaritettix known from Thailand is provided.
