Abstract

Cao, W., Xiong, Y.-X., Zhao, D.-G. & Qu, J.-J. 2019. Physcomitrium delicatulum (Funariaceae, Bryophyta), a new addition to the Chinese bryoflora from Guizhou Province, SW China. – Herzogia 32: 230 –238.

Physcomitrium delicatulum (Funariaceae, Bryophyta), known from Mexico and India, is reported here as a new addition to the Chinese bryoflora from Guizhou Province, SW China. It is characterized and readily distinguished from known Chinese species of this genus by an immersed capsule without a neck and unlobed calyptra. This species belongs to the Physcomitrium subgenus Cryptopyxis, which contains 6 species. This subgenus is also new to China. Detailed illustrations of this species as well as the distribution and an identification key to the Chinese species of this genus are added.
