The Minnan area is located in the east of Fujian Province, close to the mountains and the sea, with superior geographical position and good ecological environment. It is the pioneer of green development in Fujian Province. Entropy method is a comprehensive evaluation index method of objective weighting, which has been widely used in the field of ecological environment. In this study, we use entropy method to calculate the environmental development level of Minnan area. Through the analysis of the empirical results of green environment development, we found that the level of green development in Xiamen is higher than that in Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, and the three cities in Minnan area are all inclined to the development of economic indicators. To this end, we suggest that the three cities in Minnan area should pay attention to the coordinated development of economic indicators, social indicators and environmental indicators, strengthen cooperation among the three cities, and generate useful insight for relevant departments to create a new development path of green industry.
