To resolve the weakness in the marine economy, China has set up the strategy of revitalizing the ocean through science and technology. The experience of developed coastal countries and regions shows that marine finance is an important pillar for marine science and technology innovation and industrial development. This paper discusses how marine finance influences marine science and technology innovation. It makes up for the shortage of previous quantitative research, especially the shortage of marine finance research in subdivided industries. This study takes on the analysis of the quantitative impact of marine finance on marine scientific and technology innovation by gathering data from marine scientific research institutions involved in 13 industries from 2006 to 2016. By using the panel data, this research supports the important role of marine finance in science and technology innovation in the marine economy.
