Abstract

Chen, G.F., 2020. Analysis on risk sources and constraints of marine agriculture development in China. In: Bai, X. and Zhou, H. (eds.), Advances in Water Resources, Environmental Protection, and Sustainable Development. Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 115, pp. 244-246. Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.

This paper analyzes the common misunderstandings of increasing aquaculture of large surface fish and fishery environment protection, and puts forward some countermeasures in combination with the corresponding misunderstandings. Although traditional marine fisheries management aims to address the general reduction in target species, overfishing has changed the entire food chain and has complex potential chain effects. Most fisheries are concentrated in predators on the surface. The strength of the fishery is, for example, to capture dominant species in the feed fishery in the middle of the food chain. Peru's Theragra chalcogram or Engraulis ring can reduce the prey of predators (such as fish, marine mammals and seabirds). The fishery not only removes specific nutrient-level biomass from the food network, but also has an indirect effect, such as removing targets Species, change habitats, adjust biological behavior and provide welfare for scavengers.
