Abstract

A survey of 76 hunter-killed wild turkeys from all geographic regions in South Carolina during 1972 revealed that 33 of 76 (43%) were infected with Leucocytozoon smithi. Ten turkeys in the Coastal area had multiple infections with both L. smithi and Haemoproteus meleagridis.
