Abstract

Two new species of Ocotea Aubl. from southern Ecuador and central Peru are described. The Peruvian species, O. raymondiana van der Werff, belongs in the Ocotea smithiana group and the affinity of the Ecuadorian species, O. aligra van der Werff, is uncertain.
