Abstract

Two new species of Leia Meigen fungus gnats were discovered in western Michigan. These were the only members of the genus with black head, thorax, and abdomen that were found in a local survey. The closest relative of the two new species seems to be the mostly yellow fly Leia sublunata (Loew). Females and juveniles of Leia michigana Taber and Leia manistee Taber are unknown.
