Abstract

Ips apache Lanier is a bark beetle that is a potential risk to biodiversity and the coniferous wood industry. In Mexico, the insect is associated with various tree species of the genus Pinus. This work is the first published report on infestation by I. apache in Pinus devoniana Lindley in southern Jalisco, Mexico.

Ips apache Lanier es un escarabajo descortezador que representa un riesgo potencial para la biodiversidad y la industria maderera de coniferas. En México, el insecto se ha asociado a diversas especies de árboles del género Pinus. El presente trabajo representa el primer reporte publicado sobre la infestación de I. apache en Pinus devoniana Lindley en el sur de Jalisco, México.
