Abstract

In a study on the mites of the near seashore of the southern areas of the Caspian Sea, three species belonging to the family Raphignathidae were collected, viz. Raphignathus caspicus sp. nov., R. gracilis (Rack) and R. zhaoi Hu, Jing & Liang. The new species, R. caspicus sp. nov. is described based on the females and larvae. Also, a key to the known species of Raphignathus from Iran is presented.
