Allothrombium shirazicum is a common natural enemy of Aphis punicae and other arthropods in Iran. It is univoltine in Iran. The eggs hatch in spring, nymphs emerge in summer and adults appear in autumn. Larvae are ectoparasites of A. punicae whereas deutonymphs and adults are free-living predators of small arthropods and their eggs. Both adults and eggs overwinter. Adults hibernate in the soil and different shelters and eggs hibernate in the soil. At the end of winter, overwitered female lay eggs in the soil. These eggs and overwintered eggs hatch in spring.
