Abstract

The new cyanobacterial lichen species Phloeopeccania anemoides is described from Baja California Sur and Sinaloa, Mexico. The species colonizes open rock surfaces on volcanic boulders in rocky slopes. A key to the known North American species of Phloeopeccania is provided.
