Abstract

The Commission has conserved the current usage of the family-group name psittaculinae Vigors, 1825 for the Indo-Australasian long-tailed parrots by designation of Psittacula Cuvier, 1800 as its type genus. The simultaneously published family-group name palaeornithinae Vigors, 1825, which was originally applied to the Indo-Australasian long-tailed parrots, has been suppressed.
