The following 20 new applications have been received since the last Notice of New Applications was published in the Bulletin (volume 74, p. 54, 31 August 2017). Under Article 82 of the Code, the prevailing usage of names in the applications is to be maintained until the Commission's rulings on the applications (as Opinions) have been published.

Case 3753: Richtersiidae Guidetti et al., 2017 (Tardigrada): proposed emendation of the spelling to Richtersiusidae to remove homonymy with Richtersiidae Kreis, 1929 (Nematoda). Roberto Guidetti, Lorena Rebecchi, Roberto Bertolani, K. Ingemar Jönsson, Reinhardt M. Kristensen and Michele Cesari.

Case 3754: Circus assimilis Jardine & Selby, 1828 and Circus approximans Peale, 1848 (Aves, Accipitriformes): conservation of usage by designation of a neotype for Circus assimilis Jardine & Selby, 1828. Stephen J. Debus and Ian A.W. McAllan.

Case 3755: Fasciolaria papillosa G.B. Sowerby, 1825 (Mollusca, Gastropoda): proposed suppression; and Fasciolaria gigantea Kiener, 1840 (currently Triplofusus giganteas: Mollusca, Gastropoda): proposed conservation of usage. Williams G. Lyons and Harry G. Lee.

Case 3756: Haeckel, 1869–1870: proposed invalidation of species names of calcareous sponges. Michelle Klautau, Rob Van Soest and Radovan Borojevic.

Case 3757: Pterodactylus crassipes von Meyer, 1857 (currently Ostromia crassipes; Reptilia: Saurischia): proposed reinstatement. Vahe D. Demirjian.

Case 3758: Creseis acicula (Rang, 1828) substituted for C. clava (Rang, 1828) (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Thecosomata, Euthecosomata). Jeannine Rampal.

Case 3759: Costaclymenia binodosa (Münster, 1832) (Late Devonian; Mollusca, Cephalopoda, Ammonoidea): proposed designation of a neotype. Dieter Korn, John D. Price and Dieter Weyer.

Case 3760: Chrysomela tenebricosa Fabricius, 1775 (currently Timarcha tenebricosa) (Insecta, Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae): proposed precedence of the specific name over Tenebrio laevigatus Linnaeus, 1767. José M. Vela, Miguel Á. Alonso-Zarazaga and Mauro Daccordi.

Case 3761: Platypleurini Schmidt, 1918: Proposed precedence over Hamzaria Distant, 1905 to conserve nomenclatural stability in the Cicadidae (Insecta: Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Cicadoidea). David C. Marshall and Maxwell S. Moulds.

Case 3762: Didelphis marsupialis Linnaeus, 1758 (Mammalia, Didelphimorphia): proposed replacement of syntypes by a neotype. Anderson Feijó.

Case 3763: Stenonaster Lambert, 1922 (Echinodermata, Echinoidea, Stenonasteridae): proposed conservation by reversal of precedence of Stenocorys Lambert, 1917. Andreas Kroh, Omri Bromstein and Simon E. Coppard.

Case 3764: Cuvierina columnella, C. atlantica, C. spoeli (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Euthecosomata). Jeannine Rampai.

Case 3765: Thionia Stål, 1859 (Hemiptera, Auchenorrhyncha, Issidae): proposed designation of Issus cinctifrons Stål, 1854 as the type species. Vladimir M. Gnezdilov and Dmitry A. Dmitriev.

Case 3766: Acanthocerus MacLeay (now Ceratocanthus White, 1842) (Insecta, Coleoptera, Hybosoridae): proposed conservation of usage by designation of Acanthocerus aeneus MacLeay, 1819 (now Ceratocanthus aeneus) as its type species. Alberto Ballerio.

Case 3767: Papilio phoebus Fabricius, 1793 (currently Parnassius phoebus) (Insecta, Lepidoptera): proposed conservation of prevailing usage of the specific name and that of Doritis ariadne Lederer, 1853 (currently Parnassius ariadne) by the designation of a neotype under the Commission's plenary power. Case 3768: Hybosorus illigeri Reiche, 1853 (Insecta, Coleoptera): proposed conservation by giving it precedence over Hybosorus pinguis Westwood, 1845, Hybosorus roei Westwood, 1845 and Hybosorus carolinus LeConte, 1847. Alberto Ballerio, Frank-Thorsten Krell, Ales Bezdek, Andrey Frolov, Jean-Bernard Huchet, Denis Keith, José I. López-Colón, Eric Matthews, Federico Ocampo, Antonio Rey and Fernando Z. Vaz-de-Mello.

Case 3769: Proposed use of the plenary powers to recognize the private pamphlet “Procrustomachia” as an unavailable work. Svatopluk Bílý, Mark G. Volkovitsh and Ted C. MacRae.

Case 3770: Musca jejuna Fabricius, 1787 and Musca torosa Wiedemann, 1819 (Insecta, Diptera, Calliphoridae): proposed conservation of prevailing usage of names by setting aside existing syntypes of both nominal species and replacing them with male neotypes. Knut Rognes.

Case 3771: Stylina Lamarck, 1816 (Coelenterata, Scleractinia): proposed conservation of usage by designation of a new type species and lectotype. Shaahin Zaman and Bernard Lathuilière.

Case 3772: Anastrepha Schiner, 1868 (Insecta, Diptera, Tephritidae): Proposed precedence over Toxotrypana Gerstaecker, 1860. Allen L. Norrbom, Norman B. Barr, Peter Kerr and Ximo Mengual.
