Schismatoglottis amosyui S. Y. Wong, S. L. Low & P. C. Boyce, sp. nov. and S. pocong S. Y. Wong, S. L. Low & P. C. Boyce, sp. nov. are described and illustrated as taxonomically novel species belonging to the Nervosa Grade, a paraphyletic grade defined, uniquely for Schismatoglottideae, by aromatic vegetative tissues.

Supplementary information on taxonomy, nomenclature, distribution within Greece, total range, life form and ecological traits of vascular plants known to occur in Greece is presented and the revised data are quantitatively analysed. Floristic discrepancies between Vascular plants of Greece: An annotated checklist (Dimopoulos & al. 2013) and relevant influential datasets (Flora europaea, Med-Checklist, Euro Med PlantBase, etc.) are explained and clarified. An additional quantity of synonyms and misapplied names used in previous Greek floristic literature is presented. Taxonomic and floristic novelties published after 31 October 2013 are not considered.

A checklist of 500 lichens known from Madagascar is published for the first time, including 131 new records. A new species of Festuca L. (Poaceae) is described from the southern mountains of Tarragona (Catalonia, Spain). The new taxon belongs to the F. rubra aggregate, and superficially resembles plants of the F. trichophylla group. Its leaf anatomy, however, suggests a closer relationship with F. rubra and, in particular, F. heterophylla. Although sharing some features with F. paucispicula, a sympatric taxon, there are sufficient differences to warrant its separation from this local endemic. A comparative table and key are provided to assist in the identification of this overlooked fescue, and its relationship to other species present in the area is discussed, with special attention paid to species sharing a similar distribution. Mitosis studies have been carried out to determine the chromosome number, and the results suggest a decaploid, with a chromosome number of 2n = c. 70.

New information has extended the known range of Callitriche pulchra Schotsm. (Plantaginaceae) to Cyprus. This, combined with a survey of populations on the island of Gavdos off the S coast of Crete, shows that it is less threatened than previously thought. Updated information is presented here on the distribution, status and ecology of this species.

Balkan endemic taxa are those whose distribution is restricted exclusively to the Balkan Peninsula. In the vascular flora of Montenegro there are 372 Balkan endemic taxa (at the species and subspecies levels), of which 39 taxa are distributed only in Montenegro. This paper presents an overview of the Balkan endemic taxa in Montenegro with their families, chorological groups, life-form categories and distribution by geographical subregion. The richest families in terms of Balkan endemic taxa are Asteraceae and Caryophyllaceae, while the richest genus is Hieracium (Asteraceae). The chorological structure of the flora shows that the largest numbers of Balkan endemic taxa are from the S European mountain and C European mountain chorological groups, while in the life-form spectrum of the flora hemicryptophytes and chamaephytes are the most numerous. The presence of Balkan endemic taxa in the six geographical subregions of Montenegro is also analysed. Floristic similarities among the geographical subregions are shown with a cluster analysis.

Based on morphological and molecular data, a new species of Gesneriaceae, Primulina yingdeensis, from Guangdong, China, is described and illustrated. It is morphologically most similar to P. hochiensis and P. hochiensis var. rosulata, but the three taxa differ from each other in discrete characters. They share yellow honey guides, but in the new species these are strongly ridged and with glands. At the same time, also based on morphological and molecular data, P. hochiensis var. rosulata is raised to the rank of species, as P. rosulata.

Biscutella raphanifolia is a species distributed in N Algeria and Tunisia, characterized by the presence of large, lyrate basal leaves, amplexicaul cauline leaves, and paniculate-branched inflorescences. It has been traditionally considered the only perennial taxon from B. sect. Biscutella, lifespan being the strongest argument used to differentiate B. raphanifolia from other annual taxa such as B. algeriensis, B. confusa or B. didyma var. coriophora, with which it shares both morphological characters and distribution. Reevaluation of morphological characters in the light of phylogenetic trees from plastid (rpl32-trnL and trnV) and nuclear (ITS region) sequence data support a new circumscription of B. raphanifolia to include all those annual taxa. As a result, the new combination B. raphanifolia var. algeriensis is established, descriptions are provided for both varieties, and synonyms and lectotypes are indicated or designated for the names concerned.

Combined molecular and morphological analyses demonstrate that a number of small-flowered Caribbean Asclepiadoideae of hitherto uncertain affiliation form two independent lineages in Asclepiadeae—Gonolobinae, and not, as previously assumed, in the Metastelmatinae. One lineage is described as the new genus Anemotrochus, which includes the widespread Caribbean A. eggersii, a species originally described under Metastelma; A. yamanigueyensis, a new species discovered by the authors in E Cuba; and A. viridivenius, a plant from Hispaniola formerly assigned to Matelea. The second lineage, Tylodontia, is a small genus restricted to Cuba. Besides its type species, T. cubensis, the genus comprises T. fuscula, a species formerly assigned to Metastelma; T. stipitata, a new species described here; and T. urceolata, a species formerly assigned to Astephanus. Anemotrochus and Tylodontia belong to the wider Matelea alliance, but they form endemic Antillean, mainly Cuban lineages independent from Matelea. All species, except for A. viridivenius, are fully described and illustrated, and distribution maps are provided. The names Metastelma eggersii and Astephanus schlechterianus (a synonym of T. fuscula) are lectotypified here.
