Fouquieria burragei Rose (1911) is a poorly known species in the ocotillo family (Fouquieriaceae) restricted to southern Baja California (Mexico). Existing documentation is sparse, but outlines significant variation in color and inflorescence structure. Variation has been reported to be generally geographic in nature, despite observations of intra-population variation.
Observations of several specimens of F. burragei in cultivation clearly document the range of inflorescence variation irrespective of geographic origin and parentage.
