Abstract

Sphagnum cuspidatum, reported new for Montana, is disjunct from its main centers of distribution in the midwestern and eastern United States and Canada. The nearest known locations to Montana for this species are Minnesota, Kansas, and Alaska. Sphagnum cuspidatum is known from three sites in Montana.
