Abstract

The Lacawac Sanctuary is a non-profit nature and environmental research and education center located in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. An inventory of the bryophytes was conducted in the fall of 2015 to increase understanding of the rich bryoflora of the sanctuary and the surrounding region. A total of 105 mosses and 23 liverworts were collected and identified. Of these, 52 mosses and 15 liverworts are reported as new county records. A single new state moss record is documented.
