^*Simone Cartaxo Pinto is a researcher in palynology at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Museu Nacional, Brazil. She has a degree in Biology from the Universidade Castelo Branco, Rio de Janeiro (2008) and a Master's in palynology from the Universidade do Estado Rio de Janeiro (2012). Her research is on modern palynology, especially of the family Vitaceae.
^**Claudia Barbieri Ferreira Mendonça is a Professor in the Department of Botany of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Museu National in Brazil, and she is a research fellow at the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq). She obtained Master's and PhD degrees in Botany at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Museu Nacional between 1999 and 2006. Her research is on the palynology of the modern flora of several Brazilian ecosystems.
^***Rosana Conrado Lopes is an Associate Professor and Curator of the Herbarium in the Department of Botany of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She graduated in Biology at the Universidade Santa Úrsula (1989), obtained Master's in Botany from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Museu Nacional (1996) and a PhD in plant taxonomy) from the same institution in 2003. Her research is on the taxonomy of monocot plants and palynology.

^*****Vania Gonçalves LOurenço Esteves is titular professor in the Department of Botany of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Museu National, Brazil, and is a research fellow at the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq). She graduated in Botany at the Universidade do Estado da Guanabara in 1974, her Master's is from the Uiniversidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Museu National in 1981 and her PhD in palynology is from the Universidade de São Paulo in 1994. Her research is on the palynology of the modern flora in several Brazilian ecosystems.
