Abstract

Laboratory population life tables of Amblyseius orientalis Ehara were constructed at three different constant temperatures and one natural variable temperature. The intrinsic rate of natural increase (rm), net reproductive rate (Ro) and the finite rate of increase (λ) reached maximum values at the constant temperature of 25°C and 85% RH: rm= 0.3246, R0 = 42.93 and λ = 1.3835. At natural variable temperatures with an average of 26.2°C and 85%RH, its mean generation time (T) was the longest: T = 14.75. It was concluded that temperatures from 25°C to 26°C and relative humidity of 85% are the most suitable conditions for the mass-production of Amblyseius orientalis.
