Abstract

The South American genus Paraplesiataenius Chalumeau is redefined and its affinities are discussed. Three species are recognized. Paraplesiataenius tremolerasi (Schmidt) and two new species from Brazil, P. catarinaensis new species and P. genieri new species are described and illustrated, a key to the species and distribution records are included.
