The American Entomological Society is the oldest continuously-operating entomological society in the Western Hemisphere, founded on March 1, 1859. The American Entomological Society (AES) supports entomological research, education and outreach in the following activities: Publications, the AES Library, meetings, annual insect field day, and awards to young entomologists. The AES welcomes all who are interested in the science of entomology, whether as amateurs or professionals.
