Knowledge Base and Related Tools (KBART), a joint initiative by NISO and UKSG, explores data problems within the OpenURL supply chain. The KBART Working Group has established guidelines for the timely exchange of metadata between content providers and knowledge base developers.

Title Additions and Departures

In 2024, one title in the BioOne Complete collection will be made fully Open Access:

  • Candoella
    The Conservatory and Botanical Garden of the City of Geneva


Beginning January 1, 2024, all content published in Candoella available via BioOne Complete, including the backfile from volume 65 (2010 – current), will be available under an Open Access license.

In 2024, BioOne Complete offers 218 full-text journals from leading scientific societies and independent presses around the world and BioOne Complete’s Open Access collection includes 35 titles. Within BioOne Complete, 74% of all titles have Impact Factors and 60% of current titles are available in full-text XML exclusively through BioOne.

Departures

As of December 31, 2023, Florida Entomologist, an open access title published by the Florida Entomological Society, departed the BioOne Complete collection. In accordance with BioOne's commitment to perpetual access, all previously deposited issues from 2002-2023 (21 years of content), will remain accessible to BioOne Complete subscribers in perpetuity.
