SAGE Publishing was notified by a reader of the corresponding author, that the article cited above has unattributed overlap with a thesis by a PhD student who was being supervised by the corresponding author and the reader. The reader also cited concerns over the contributions of the second author, believing that the contributions given by this author are not enough to merit authorship. SAGE Publishing contacted Hawassa University to conduct an investigation. The institution has declined as the research was not directly funded by their College of Medicine and Health Sciences. Due to the unresolved concerns over authorship, SAGE Publishing is posting this expression of concern until any further update is provided.
