In the synthesis article by Björnsen Gurung et al (2012) on “Global change and the world's mountains—Research needs and emerging themes for sustainable development,” published in the Supplement Issue of Mountain Research and Development containing a selection of Perth II (Global Change and the World's Mountains) conference papers, the editors introduced a mistake when they edited the y-axis labels of graphs A–D in Figure 4. Instead of “Number of papers contributing to a Challenge,” all y-axis labels must read “Number of sessions.” The correct versions of Figure 4 and its caption are therefore shown below.
