Polypedilum (Tripodura) harteniAndersen & Mendes 2010 is recorded for the first time in China, and the adult male from Zhejiang Province is illustrated. A key to the males of species in the subgenus P. (Tripodura) found in China is given.
Gonatopus rileyi sp. nov. is described from a female collected on Mt. Magazine, Arkansas, U.S.A. The new species is similar to Gonatopus lunatusKlug 1810, and Gonatopus schenklingiStrand 1913. Keys to the Nearctic species of Gonatopus are modified to include the new species.
Two new species of whiteflies are described and illustrated based on specimens intercepted at US Ports-of-Entry. Aleurolobus tomkinsae Dooley & Smith-Pardo sp. nov. was intercepted on the leaves of Bergera koenigii Linnaeus (Rutaceae) from India and Sri Lanka and on Magnolia L. (Magnoliaceae) from Thailand. Asialeyrodes lateropapilliformis Dooley & Smith-Pardo sp. nov. was intercepted on the leaves of Syzygium P. Browne ex Gaertn (Myrtaceae) from Indonesia. Keys to the species of the genus AsialeyrodesCorbett 1935 and to the whitefly species found on Bergera koenigii and Syzygium are also provided.
Se describen e ilustran dos especies nuevas de Aleyrodidae, a partir de especímenes interceptados en puertos de entrada a los EE.UU. Aleurolobus tomkinsae Dooley & Smith-Pardo sp. nov. fue interceptada en Bergera koenigii L. (Rutaceae) provenientes de la India y Sri Lanka y Magnolia Linnaeus (Magnoliaceae) de Tailandia. Asialeyrodes lateropapilliformis Dooley & Smith-Pardo sp. nov. fue interceptada en hojas de Syzygium P. Browne ex Gaertn (Myrtaceae) provenientes de Indonesia. Se proporcionan claves taxonómicas para la identificación de las especies del genero AsialeyrodesCorbett 1935 asi como para la especies de mosca blanca encontradas normalmente en B. koenigii y Syzygium.
Actenodes scabrosussp. nov. from Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Puebla, and Actenodes michoacanussp. nov. from Michoacán, are described, illustrated, and compared to related species. Distributional and biological notes are presented for 65 other species of Buprestidae from Mexico and Central America in the following genera: Acmaeodera (s. str.) Eschscholtz 1829, Actenodes Dejean 1833, Agrilaxia Kerremans 1903, Agrilus (s. str.) Curtis 1825, Amorphosoma Laporte 1835, Aphanisticus Latreille 1829, Brachys Dejean 1833, Chrysobothris (s. str.) Eschscholtz 1829, Halecia Laporte & Gory 1837, Hiperantha (s. str.) Gistel 1834, Jelinekia Cobos 1980, MixochlorusWaterhouse 1887, Oaxacanthaxia Bellamy 1991, Pachyschelus Solier 1833, Paragrilus Saunders 1871, Paratyndaris (s. str.) Fisher 1919, PelycothoraxBellamy & Westcott 1996, Polycesta (Arizonica) Cobos 1981, and Polycesta (Tularensia) Nelson 1997. The records presented represent four new country and 25 new state records for Mexico, one species removed from the list of species from Mexico, one new country record for Nicaragua, 75 new adult host records and 24 new flower visitation records.
