The Yungas are an area of dense evergreen forests covering the eastern slopes of the Andes. Very few studies deal with the insects of this biotope. Here the results of a first study of the Tingidae (Insecta, Heteroptera) of these forests are presented. New distribution and records of species, as well as descriptions of the fifth instar larvae of Corythucha tapiensis, Dictyla monotropida, Gargaphia dissortis, Leptopharsa firma, Sphaerocysta angulata, Tigava pulchella are provided. The tingid fauna of the Yungas does not seem highly characteristic of this area, but it is poorly known, especially at high elevations.

A new species of Seira Lubbock, 1869 (Collembola, Entomobryidae) from Tunisia with secondary sexual characters.
During the period 1995–1996, 200 specimens of Collembola have been collected in the Bou Hedma National Park, in southern Tunisia, with the aim of studying the influence of mammalian herbivores plant overgrazing on the development of soil mesofauna. They belong to four different species, all of the genus Seira Lubbock, 1869: S. uwei n. sp., S. desertiJacquemart, 1974, S. dagamaeDallai, 1973 and S. ferrarii Parona, 1888. Seira deserti is a Tunisian species, described from a single specimen. The new description completes the characteristics given in the original description. This species is closely related to S. jacquemarti Barra, 2004 from the mainland Yemen. Seira dagamae, from the Eolic Islands (Italy), is here recorded for the first time outside its region of origin. The Tunisian specimens of Seira ferrarii present the same characteristics as specimens from Italy; the pigmentation corresponds to the pale form. Seira uwei n. sp. is a species of large size and variable pigmentation. The species shows clear sexual dimorphism, the males having developed pointed setae on the femorae and tibiotarsi of the front legs. This character has also been observed on S. polysperes Barra, 2004 from Yemen.

A new genus and species of deep-sea Chrysogorgiidae Verrill, 1883, Pseudochrysogorgia bellona n. gen. n. sp., is described from colonies collected in the Coral Sea, West of New Caledonia (southwestern Pacific Ocean). These specimens bear resemblance to the genera Chrysogorgia Duchassaing & Michelotti, 1864 (dichotomously-subdivided branches arising from the main stem in a spiraling fashion; polyps characterized by ornamented sclerites) and MetallogorgiaVersluys, 1902 (colony monopodial, hexagonal branching pattern). Additional material collected North of New Zealand (Otara Seamount) is used to complete the description of this new genus. Its taxonomic rank is discussed in light of morphology- and DNA-based phylogenetic inference and analysis of genetic distances among deep-sea chrysogorgiid genera.

Thanatocenose of Niau's atoll lagoon (French Polynesia) and description of a new species of Strombus (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Strombidae).
The field site of the Niau atoll lagoon (Tuamotu archipelago, French Polynesia) is decribed as is the Pleistocene thanatotenose we observed. Strombus (s.l.) blanci n. sp. is described and compared with Strombus fasciatus Born, 1778, a similar recent known species from Red Sea and with Strombus mickleiLadd, 1972 from the late Miocene from Eniwetok and Bikini, Marshall archipelago. Strombus blanci n. sp. differs from S. micklei and from S. fasciatus by a more fusiform test, by columellar folds at its basis, by a lirate inner lip and by three nodulose spiral ridges on the last whorl.

Komai T. & Chan T.-Y. 2010. — Two new pandalid shrimps and the discovery of the second specimen of the rare hippolytid shrimp Leontocaris bulga Taylor & Poore, 1998 (Crustacea, Decapoda) from the Mozambique MAINBAZA Cruise. Zoosystema 32 (4) : 625-641.
Two new species of the caridean shrimp family Pandalidae were discovered from the recent deep-sea MAINBAZA cruise in the Mozambique Channel. Pandalina spinicauda n. sp. is unique in the genus by having much more numerous dorsolateral spines on the telson. Plesionika neon n. sp. belongs to die “Plesionika rostricrescentis (Bate, 1888)” group that bears distinct basal rostral crest and with elaborate colour patterns, but has the shortest stylocerite and a very different coloration. The rare hippolytid shrimp Leontocaris bulgaTaylor & Poore, 1998 was also collected by the MAINBAZA cruise. Leontocaris bulga has only been known before from a damaged specimen lacking abdomen and collected off Tasmania, and therefore, the Mozambique specimen is described and illustrated in detail.

Prochristianella aciculata n. sp. and P. omunae n. sp. (Platyhelminthes, Cestoda, Trypanorhyncha, Eutetrarhynchidae) are described from the spiral valve of Neotrygon kuhlii (Müller & Henle, 1841) (Rajiformes, Dasyatidae) from Nouméa, New Caledonia, representing the first records of this cestode genus from the southern Pacific Ocean. Prochristianella aciculata n. sp. is distinguished from congeners by aciculate hooks in the principal rows of the metabasal tentacular armature and by the unique morphology of the first hooks in each row. Prochristianella omunae n. sp. is distinguished from congeners by its extended basal armature (20 rows of hooks) and the presence of enlarged hooks at the very base of the tentacle.
