The water-tightness measurement of a non-return tap is complex in testing condition, difficult in infliction of pressure, long in period of observation, low in measuring precision, easy in specimen destruction and so on, there is not an indoor testing apparatus of water-tightness for the non-return tap in water resources engineering. A specimen was fixed with a gate-type frame and a fixing apparatus of auto lifting and falling, the hydraulic pressure for measuring was controlled by an automatic system of pressure control, the measuring of water-tightness was carried out with a piezometer, a piezometric tube, an electromagnetic flowmeter based on analysis of the water-tightness of the non-return tap, and the corresponding testing method was carried out. The test showed that the specimen could be fixed with the fixing apparatus, the needed hydraulic pressure for measurement could be controlled by the automatic system of pressure control, the indexes of water-tightness for a non-return tap could be accurately measured, thus some difficulties were overcome such as complexity of testing condition, difficulty of load infliction, long period of observation, low precision of test and so on, it could be used to measure the water-tightness for the non-return tap. The method can be used to measure the water-tightness and evaluate the engineering quality of the non-return tap.
